3000 Reads And A HUGE Thank You!

I am so absolutely thrilled!
I cannot believe it's actually happened.
It was such a huge surprise and such a big joy
to see my blog have 300 reads and then 600
and finally pass 1000 reads!
But to see that MY BLOG
my little corner of the internet has
more than 3000 READS!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!
It makes me so so happy!
I'm sure all the exclamation points help
bring that point across.

So I want to say a huge HUGE THANK YOU!
To everyone whose ever stopped on by and read
something that I've written.
It means a lot to me to see that people actually
take a glance and occasionally a second
glance at my posts.

And since I realize that it's absolutely impossible for
me alone to have clicked on my blog more than 3000 times
that confirms that I do have a few readers who check back
and others who come for short visits.
Which is why I want to kindly ask each one of my readers
(key word ASK...not force)
to leave a comment. Just so I can get the chance to know
whose stopping by.
So please it will only take like 2-3 minutes to leave a comment.
I even took down the spam check thing so it'll be
easier leaving a comment.

Once more I want to say thank you! To everyone whose
ever stopped on by and to those who keep on stopping by
Thank You, THANK YOU for taking the time
to read my blog!

I'll stop now before I embarrass myself. :)

Keeping Memories For Your Little One

One of my favorite places to shop at is the "Dollar Store". Now granted, not everything is sold for a dollar but you can still find some really nice stuff there. That's were Baby J. and I spent a small part of our weekend this time around. Of course, he didn't really have much of a choice but still, I think we both got something nice out of our shopping spree. If you can call buying three items a shopping spree.

One of the things I really wanted to get was a nice looking notebook. And I did. Isn't it pretty?

I love the fact that it has a variety of colored paper, then it has some lined paper and even a few pages of checkered paper. My purpose in buying this notebook was to be able to have it on hand in case an idea for my blog would come along and also to be able to jot down the different Blog STATs each month. I do eventually plan to make myself a blog calendar but for now I think this will do. Actually, it works perfectly. I've been enjoying writing down little blurbs of what I plan to write for The Everyday Mommy Blog. (And oh, I've got one or two funny stories up my sleeves!) I've been using the plain white paper to keep track of how many page views I have per day and so on.

It almost made me reconsider going through the trouble of finding the "perfect" blog calendar but after a lot of reading up on the importance of taking your blogging seriously. Well, I plan to do just that. I want my readers to be able to enjoy regular blog posts and most importantly good content. Which the blog calendar will help me keep on track with the posting but I really do believe I will continue to use my notebook. In the space of a few days it's become very important to me.

Baby J. also received a notebook. Actually, he didn't receive it I bought it to write in for him. A while back I read a wonderful blog post about keeping a journal for your baby. The blogger mentioned how she would write a few lines about each day in her baby's journal and how once he was old enough she would share it with him.

I was so inspired by her blog post that I went and searched for a small journal for Baby J.

I found a few that really struck my fancy but I wanted something that had that "Baby Vibe" to it. That's when I came upon this cute little journal. It's not very big so it fits perfectly into our diaper bag. And in the evenings I can just grab it and write down a few things about the day for him. I want to keep it in the diaper bag because we love to take long walks every other day and just in case I see something that I want to jot down right then and there I want to have the journal on hand.

Later after we fill up this one, I plan to get a more "big kids" journal and continue this new journaling habit. I think it will be a great way for both Baby J. and I to walk down memory lane together when he's older.

Like I mentioned a little bit earlier, I was very inspired by this young ladies post. So, I'm going to search around and see if I can again find it and provide all of you with the link. That way you read for yourself just what a great idea this is. And who knows, maybe even start journaling for your little one as well.

It's never to late to start.

Baby J. is 10 months old already and I'm only just starting. I do plan on going back to my pregnancy journal and taking a few of my favorite (they're all my favorites but I would end up filling my journal) memories from there and transcribing them in here. I also want to write down at least one memory for each month until we reach today's date so that his journal won't just start off straight at 10 months. Instead it will have a few earlier memories as well.

Since I've been never able to figure out just how exactly scrapbooking works I think this is a nice alternative.

How do you keep memories for your little one? Do you journal as well or scrapbook? Let me know in a comment below!

Real Time Talk

Today I wanted to take some time and discuss my blog with you- my readers.
I spent some time today re-reading some of my posts. Each one to me is special in its own way. But I also realize that not everyone is interested in reading about a mommy's lack of sleep or organizing things around the house. This is the reason for why I decided to keep my blog open to a variety of subjects. Subjects that all revolve around being a mommy.

I want my blog to be a place were fellow mommy's and mommy's-to-be can stop by and find useful information as well as a story that will bring a smile to their face. From personal experience I can say that it is so encouraging and motivating to read about another mom that has struggled to get through the day because of the lack of sleep at night, it makes you realize that "hey I'm not the only one going through this."

For many new moms life becomes a struggle of trying to juggle everyday activities. This is why I started my blog. I wanted other moms to know their not alone in falling behind in household chores, being puked and peed on, or just trying to find the perfect balance. Their not alone in this and neither am I.

I realize my blog is still just in the beginning stages. There is so much room for growth and improvement. I don't mind that thought at all instead I embrace it. The Everyday Mommy Blog is meant to be a place of inspiration, a place that provides encouragement and understanding, that brings along ideas and resources to help others. But mostly, it is a place were you can pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and read a real-life story about a real-life mommy trying to deal with real-life situations. Situations that range from diaper explosions to loving cuddles.
If You're Interested Click : Here

So, because I want to keep my blog open to different things and as I mentioned I want to help provide moms with the resources and ideas they need, I did some research. Which lead me to this amazing site called momsaffiliate.com . It's basically a website that allows bloggers to get into contact with a variety off brands. You get the chance to promote these brands and also earn a little bit of money along the way.

Believe me every cent counts when you're a stay-at-home mom with a growing family.

I was absolutely thrilled when they accepted my application and I was given the opportunity to do try my hand at promoting this amazing website soap.com . Go ahead and check it out... you'll be amazed at everything they offer and the great prizes, plus shipping is free on any purchases over $49.

Anyways, I love the idea that I can now help my readers even more by checking out different opportunities and reviewing various products. Once, I am firmly convinced that this would be not only interesting but also beneficial to know I can share it with you via my blog or other social media options.

It's really gotten me excited to find things to share with you guys.

But here's the deal, so to say, I can share it with you but what I am really hoping for is some feedback. I would love to see that someone - anyone has commented on my post. Not just on the ones like the one I did for soap.com but also on posts like Flowers And Time Apart or From Me To You:Fun Summer Activities To Do With Your Baby .

One of my greatest wishes for this blog is to see it become a place were my readers interact with each other and were I can interact with you. But I can only do that if you leave a comment. So, please do! It would really make my day.

I have also gone ahead and created a twitter account...GASP!... I never thought I'd do that!! But I have. I'm not exactly sure how it works yet but I'm learning. I think you can find me under the everyday mommy @everyday_mommy. I've also gone ahead and created a Facebook page specifically for The Everyday Mommy Blog, find it under The Everyday Mommy or just click on the previously highlighted word it should take you directly there.

Alright, I guess that's about it for now on this blog post. I really just wanted to share with you my intentions, dreams, hopes, and plans for the blog. I have much more to share but this post is already quite lengthy. I will look forward to getting in contact with all my readers not just here but through Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and eventually email.

I really care to hear from you so PLEASE PLEASE leave a comment below! I've tried
to arrange the settings on the comments so that it will be super easy to do so. Just type out your comment and press post! Let me know your thoughts, your more than welcome to go back and leave comments on the other posts as well!

Coming Soon At Our Headquarters...

Lately Baby J. has been giving me more time to myself.

Does the above sentence strike you as funny as it does me? What I actually meant is that Baby J.'s nap-times have started sorting themselves out more and that means I actually get to have two-three precious hours to myself a day.

Of course, as any mommy out there knows-those two to three hours...usually get filled with errands, housework, cooking, and whatever other chores need to get done. Until recently this had been the norm around here at The Everyday Mommy Headquarters. As soon as Baby J. would drop off to sleep in the mornings I would start racing around the house loading a the dishwasher, the washmachine, cooking lunch, dusting, mopping the floors, and so on. Afternoon naps were spent much the same way as morning naps except I'd take time out for breakfast. It's true, I usually never get around to ACTUALLY eating breakfast well...at a normal breakfast time.

But as you must have noticed, I did mention that this was what was the norm "until recently". Last Friday, I actually walked over to my personal bookshelf and checked out my book collection. Two of them struck me as something I'd like to read and work on.

The first- Bible Memory Plan by Pamela L. McQuade. I bought this of off Christianbooks.com and just never got around to it. Well, I actually enjoy it and it's very simple to use. And dare I say it...I actually memorized two scripture verses already! How exciting!

The second- The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I actually received this book as a gift a LONG TIME ago. I do believe I was about 14 years old at the time...maybe younger. A small girls group at church wanted to do read through this book together and have discussions about it. Unfortunately for me, I never did manage to attend regularly. So, the book ended up spending more time on my bookshelves than being used. Well, I decided I would really like to get to work on it. I mean, there is still plenty of time to actually READ and COMPLETE the book before the arrival of our second baby. I'd really love to implement the ideas and concepts that it teaches into my life before the little one shows up. I do believe it would greatly benefit not only myself but my family as well.

SO, why am I blogging about this? Let me tell you.

I would very much like to share my thoughts about the Bible Memory Plan Weekly Verses and the Purpose Driven Life with my readers. I would like for my journey through the Purpose Driven Life to be recorded on here. Just as I would love to share my thoughts on the Bible Verses every week.

Now, don't worry I don't plan on forcing anyone to speak up or to actually read these particular blog posts. The posts will always be clearly titled so that if you want to skip over them you can. I want to eventually group them into their own specific category but I'm still a little bit unclear on how that works.

Just like my Blog Title mentions this blog is about the EVERYDAY MOMMY...and everyday moms do many various things. For now, I don't plan on restricting my blog to just recipes or stories about my adventures about being a mom. I'd like to share multiple things with you, my readers, that happen here at our Headquarters.

So, that's that for now. I'll probably start the first posts on the Memory verses and the first chapter of the book later today.

But don't worry! There will also be a many, VERY MANY posts that deal with my cooking, organizing, printables, and of course most important my thoughts and adventures as a Everyday Mommy.

What books have got you thinking? Or are there some specific books you want to get reading? I want to hear from you ... leave me a comment below!
